Applying for Aid
Completing your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is your first step in starting the Financial Aid process. Here are some Frequently Asked Questions by Graduate Students:
Where do I obtain the FAFSA?
The online application is available at www.fafsa.ed.gov beginning January 1st for the following Fall and Spring semesters. The FAFSA is required by UTSA to receive almost all forms of financial aid.
Can I still be considered for financial aid if I hold a full-time job and/or have a family?
Yes.
What do Ineed to complete the FAFSA?
You will need a copy of your tax return if you filed taxes (and your spouse's tax return if married) in order to complete the application.
What is a PIN?
What if Ihad a PINas an undergraduate student and have forgotten it? The PIN comes from the U.S. Department of Education and serves as your electronic signature for online applications and account management. You can request a new or duplicate PIN at www.pin.ed.gov.
What is UTSA's School Code?
010115
When will I find out what financial aid has been awarded to me?
Once you are admitted to the university, your financial aid awards will be posted on your ASAP account and an award letter will be mailed to you. You will have one month to accept or decline your awards.
